QUEENS, N.Y. -- Crowned the 2015 BIG EAST Individual Champion after winning a three-hole playoff last week, senior Dylan Crowley will take his title to The Course at Yale to compete at the NCAA New Haven Regional from May 14-16.
Â
"I'm really excited to go to The Course at Yale for this year's NCAA Tournament," said Crowley. "I've played at that course before and I'm looking forward to be close to the St. John's area so that my family and friends can come out and support me."
Â
Crowley earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament after picking up the automatic bid from the BIG EAST as the individual champion. After starting on the tough back nine in the final round of the BIG EAST Championship at the Callawassie Island Golf Club, Crowley was able to pick up a key birdie putt on the par-4 seventh to head into the clubhouse with a 71 to put him tied for first at one-under for the week and force a playoff with Patrick Sanchez of Marquette.
Â
Heading into the final hole of the three-hole playoff all square with Sanchez, Crowley was able to keep focused and take the third hole of the playoff to win his first-career BIG EAST title and seal and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
For Crowley, this will mark the second NCAA Tournament appearance after serving as a member of the 2014 BIG EAST Champion St. John's squad. In last year's NCAA Auburn Regional, Crowley finished the week with a 78-78-73--229 (+13) to finish tied for 52nd.
Â
This year, Crowley has posted up a 73.62 stroke average and has picked up a pair of Top-10 finishes. During his four-year career with the Red Storm, Crowley has held a 74.67 stroke average after competing in 38 events and 108 rounds of play.
