QUEENS, N.Y. - Former St. John's standout Tim Parker made his MLS debut for Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 2, entering as a late substitution in a 0-0 draw on the road against the Portland Timbers.
The first-ever St. John's player taken in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft, Parker was drafted 13th overall by the Whitecaps.
Of the 21 players selected in the first round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Parker became the 14th to make his MLS debut. Parker was also the fourth of the eight first round defenders to make his first MLS appearance.
A three-time NSCAA All-Region selection, Parker earned BIG EAST honors in each of his four seasons at St. John's. The defender was a unanimous first team All-BIG EAST honoree as a senior and also garnered first team honors as a junior. Parker was a second team choice as a sophomore and earned All-Rookie honors as a freshman.
Parker appeared in 79-of-80 Red Storm games in his four seasons and made 78 starts. The defender finished his collegiate career with four goals, two game-winners, and four assists, while anchoring a defense that posted 30 shutouts. Parker helped lead the Red Storm to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2011-13) and the 2011 BIG EAST Tournament title.
