Walker Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - After leading the Red Storm to a pair of convincing wins at home, Jade Walker has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced this morning by the league office.
This is the second time this season that Walker has found a spot on the conference's honor roll, as she earned a nod on Dec. 21 after a standout performance at Duquesne.
Walker, the team's third-leading scorer at 11.4 points per game this season, played an integral role in the Red Storm's 2-0 weekend, averaging 16.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per outing. The Maplewood, N.J., native, who leads the league in field goal percentage on the season at 56.9 percent, connected on 14 of her 21 attempts from the floor against Butler and Xavier.
On Friday against Butler, tallied 12 points, found rebounds and three assists, as the Red Storm cruised to a 27-point victory, 68-41, against the Bulldogs.
Two days later, Walker registered her second double-double of the season, pouring in 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against the Musketeers. Walker connected on nine of her 12 opportunities from the floor and helped the Red Storm defense match a season-best output by allowing only 41 points.
St. John's kicks off a three-game road swing this weekend, beginning with a Friday night tilt against Marquette in Milwaukee at 8 p.m. ET.
