QUEENS, N.Y. -- NFCA Strikeout Cancer Day, Alumnae Day and Youth Team Appreciation Weekend highlights the St. John's softball promotional schedule released on Tuesday. For the full schedule please click here.
St. John's softball (8-12) returns to Queens on Wednesday as the Johnnies hosts Stony Brook at 2:30 p.m. in their home-opener at Red Storm Field. All fans in attendance will receive a free 2016 rolled softball schedule poster.
On April 9, all fans are invited to help support the Red Storm as they `Lace-Up for Pediatric Cancer.' In conjunction with the marketing team, St. John's will be hosting several fundraising efforts where fans can win exclusive gear and experiences.
Several events will take place on April 30 when the Johnnies host Creighton in a double-header. Autographs and a drawstring bag will be available for all SJU campers during `Camper Reunion Day'. Also, fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game as free treats will be provided for the team's `Bark in the Park event.'
NFCA Strikeout Cancer Day is set for the following day (May 1) against Creighton. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive an exclusive SJU pink Breast Cancer Awareness giveaway. Fans can bid on exclusive apparel in a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting the St. John's Athletics Breast Cancer fundraising efforts.
May 7th's double-header versus Seton Hall will feature SJUSB Alumnae Day and Youth Team Appreciation Weekend. Former players return to Red Storm Field and will be honored in between games. Free St. John's flags will be given away to the first 50 fans in attendance.
Senior Day on May 8 closes out the Red Storm home schedule. The Johnnies will honor seniors Shirley Chui, Tori Free, Taylor Hill, Yvonne Rericha and Carly Williams as they play their final game in front of the home crowd on Mother's Day.
