QUEENS, N.Y. -- After finishing tied for third at the Towson Invitational two weeks ago, the St. John's men's golf team is back in action on Saturday when the team travels to New Haven, Conn., to compete in the one day, 36-hole Yale Spring Invitational at The Course at Yale.
Leading St. John's heading into the Yale Invitational are freshmen Seung Yub Baek, Michael Conforti, Troy Evans. Juniors Kevin King and Guiseppe Truglio round out the starting lineup with freshman Matthew Sweeney competing as an individual.
St. John's had its best showing of the season on April 3 at the Towson Invitational, finishing tied for third in a 16-team field despite tough conditions that included steady 30 mph winds.
Conforti registered the best finish of his career with a five-over par score of 149 to tie for sixth.
Previewing the Field: The 12-team field includes Brown, Bucknell, Cornell, Central Connecticut, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Fordham, Hartford, Sacred Heart, Villanova and host Yale.
