QUEENS, N.Y. - For the second time in just three days, the Red Storm Women's Soccer family has had one of its members named to a national team for UEFA Euro 2017 Qualifying, as incoming freshman Zsani Kajan has found a spot on the Hungarian Team.
Kajan and the Hungarian National Team will square off against the Turkish squad in Antalya, Turkey, on Monday, June 6, at 1 p.m. EDT.
Hungary currently ranks second in the Group 5 standings with a record of 2-2-2 in six matches so far. At the moment, Turkey sits in last place in the Group 5 standings, with five losses and one draw to their record in Euro 2017 qualifying.
Kajan has a long history of success with the Hungarian team in international competition. During World Cup Qualifying in 2013, Kajan tallied a goal and three assists against Kazakhstan just a few months after her 16th birthday. More recently, Kajan recorded two goals for the Hungarians in the 2016 UEFA European U-19 Championship.
Kajan is the second member of the Red Storm family to recently be called up for international action, as Rachel Daly was named to the English National Team on Wednesday.
