Kayla Bower, Juliana Dane, Stephanie Cornelius and Julianna Bivona are tasked with leading the Red Storm in 2026
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's women's soccer Head Coach Ian Stone announced the 2026 Leadership Committee, charged with leading the Red Storm in the 2026 campaign.
Kayla Bower will return for a fifth year and her second term as a team leader, joined by rising seniors Stephanie Cornelius and Juliana Dane and junior Julianna Bivona. Each member of the group has made a significant impact on team culture on and off the field.
"As a Staff, we are very excited to see this new Leadership Committee in place," said Stone. "Individually, they each have a world of potential; now the process of their day-to-day collaboration in leading our team can more readily happen."
A goalkeeper, Bower started 16 of 17 matches during the season, logging 1,440 minutes in net for the Johnnies. The Lincoln Park, N.J., native recorded four shutouts and made 94 saves, which ranks tied for sixth-most in program history and a .786 save rate. She earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice (Sept. 1 and 29) and has been named to the BIG EAST Academic Honor Roll for three consecutive years.
Midfielders Cornelius and Dane both missed the 2025 season due to injury. Cornelius has appeared in 11 career matches, totaling 180 minutes of playing time. Dane started 16 of the 18 matches she played in, registering one goal and one assist for three points across 1,192 minutes. Both student-athletes have earned BIG EAST Academic Honor Roll recognition in each of the past two years.
Bivona, a defender, also sat out the 2025 season because of injury. The Long Island native transferred to Queens from the University of South Florida, where she appeared in 13 matches on the Bulls' backline. The New York native logged 253 minutes and helped USF record eight clean sheets during the 2024 campaign.
