Red Storm wrapped up 2025 campaign on Saturday
OMAHA – The St. John's women's soccer team (3-9-5, 1-6-3 BIG EAST) fell in its season finale at Creighton (7-7-4, 4-3-3 BIG EAST), 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Morrison Stadium.
With the victory the Bluejays secured their spot as the fourth-seed in the 2025 BIG EAST Women's Soccer Championship in Boyds, Md.
Saturday's match marked the final game for the Red Storm's four seniors- Mia Agresti, Kayla Bower, Molly McGlame and Emily Riggins. The senior class combined for 214 appearances all in a St. John's uniform.
Bower finishes the season with 94 total saves, which ties for sixth-most in a single-season in St. John's Women's Soccer history. The senior netminder leads the BIG EAST in stops and saves per game, tallying the highest total of any Red Storm goalkeeper since 2009, when Kristin Russell recorded the same number of 94.
Madison Mariani paced the Red Storm with two shot attempts during a chilly fall Saturday in Omaha.
In the opening half, neither side threatened offensively in the opening 25 minutes. Creighton got on the board in the 31st minute as Anna Bragg headed home the game-winner right in front of the goal line off a corner kick service from Olivia Sides.
In the 37th minute, Jalen Chaney doubled the Bluejays lead after finishing passes from Kendal Radke and Mallory Connealy.
Riggins had the best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes steering a strike from 20 yards out on frame that was corralled by the Creighton goalkeeper. The Bluejays carried a 2-0 advantage into the locker room.
In the second half, Creighton expanded its advantage in the 58th minute after Brynn Gardner provided the game's final tally off helpers from Olivia Duray and Conneally.
The Red Storm spent the final 30 minutes of the match down a player and generated three shots over the final 45 minutes.
St. John's concludes the season with a 3-9-5 overall record and a 1-6-3 mark in conference play. The Johnnies will be back in action August for the 2026 campaign.
