Kirsty Beckwith Named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week

QUEENS, N.Y. -- After claiming second place at the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, St. John's women's golfer Kirsty Beckwith was named the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week.
"I am very comfortable with my game at the moment," said Beckwith. "It's rewarding to see that my hard work and training this summer is paying off."
Beckwith carded a one-under 71 final round score to jump five spots in the standings and finish with a one-over 145 for the two-round tournament. Beckwith helped the Red Storm finish second overall at Dartmouth, ahead of 12 other teams.
The sophomore from Leeds, England also placed second at the Rutgers Invitational to open the season. In her short career, Beckwith has five top-10 finishes in 11 total tournaments.
"I'm very proud of my start to this season and also proud of the team," Beckwith added. "I am excited to see what the rest of the season holds for both myself and this squad."
St. John's returns to action on Oct. 10-11 when the Red Storm travels to Hamden, Conn., to compete in the Quinnipiac Classic.
