Gui Gingras Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - After leading the No. 9 Red Storm to two victories in its first true series of the season, Gui Gingras has been honored by the BIG EAST for his efforts with a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll.
Gingras earns his first career honor roll spot following a stellar weekend in the Red Storm's series win against Liberty that saw him hit .636, slug .909 and drive in five runs. In Friday's series opener, Gingras entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning and quickly made his presence felt, hitting a two-RBI single to put the Red Storm up 3-0. The Levis, Quebec, native then added a solo shot in the eighth and knocked the game-winning RBI single in the 10th, leading the Red Storm to its second extra-inning victory of the year. In the first game of a double-header the following day, the redshirt senior went 3-for-5 and drove in another run before going 1-for-3 with a run scored in the finale.
Gingras and the Red Storm are scheduled to return to action this weekend, playing host to Holy Cross for a three-game set at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
