The St. John's volleyball will return home this weekend to face No. 19 Marquette and DePaul on Friday and Saturday.

The Red Storm will face off against Marquette on Friday at Taffner Field House beginning at 5 p.m. before taking on DePaul on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Carnesecca Arena.

The Johnnies are coming off a 1-1 weekend on the road with a win over Providence before falling at Creighton. Amanda Sanabia was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her efforts and moved into eighth place in program history in career digs on Sunday, passing Karin Palgutova. The junior now sits at 1,139 digs on her career, which is 14 digs behind Robyn Kurasaki for seventh.

Erica Di Maulo also enters the weekend with a chance to climb the leaderboard in career assists. The setter will begin the match against Marquette 43 assists behind Deniz Mutlugil for fourth on the all-time list in career assists. The junior has 851 assists on the season and sits in third in the conference with 9.78 assists per set.

Marquette enters the match 15-4 and 6-1 in conference play after defeating Xavier and DePaul in straight sets last week. The team's lone loss in BIG EAST play came at Creighton with the Golden Eagles riding a five-match winning streak coming into Queens.

 The Golden Eagles entered the season as the preseason favorite taking six out of 10 first place votes in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. The team also placed three onto the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in Allie Barber, Jenna Rosenthal, and Hope Werch.

Barber was named the Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year. The outside hitter ranks first in the conference in kills per set and fifth in hitting percentage after leading the conference in kills per set last season with 4.71.

Ryan Theis is in his fifth season at Marquette and is coming off a season that saw the Golden Eagles win BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year and make its seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Marquette took both matches from the Red Storm in 2017 in straight sets and leads the all-time series 13-5 with St. John's taking two of the last five matches with the Golden Eagles.

DePaul enters the match winning three of its last four contests. The Blue Demons defeated Georgetown and Butler before falling to Marquette in straight sets to improve to 3-4 in conference play and 5-13 overall.

Brittany Maxwell was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team for the Blue Demons, but the senior has not played in a match this season for DePaul. Instead, Emma Price leads the team in kills per set with 2.55 per frame.
