Johnnies Finish Fifth at BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship

CALLAWASSIE, S.C. - The St. John's women's golf team turned in a final round 318 (+30) to finish fifth at the 2018 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship at the Callawassie Island Golf Club in South Carolina.
The Johnnies tallied a 952 over three rounds of play to close out play ahead of Creighton in the team standings.
Jumping three spots after the final 18, Linda Wang delivered another impressive effort for the Red Storm. The Fresh Meadows native carded a final round 74 (+2) to finish in a tie for seventh. The junior's outing was highlighted by a bogey-free front nine before draining a pair of birdies on the par-5 11th and the par-4 18th holes.
Alejandra Sanchez carded an 80 (+8) in the final round, while Kaitleen Shee and Andrea Sanchez each fired an 82 (+10) to all finish inside the top-25.
Lydia Kim closed out scoring for St. John's, posting a round-three 85 (+13), highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 18th hole.
Georgetown led from start-to-finish turning in a total 903 (+39) to claim the 2018 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship for the second-straight season. The Hoyas were paced by individual champion, Jacquelyn Eleey, who posted 222 (+6) over 54 holes.
