Curteeona Brelove Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Brelove averaged a team-high 13.5 points per game in a 2-0 weekend
After averaging a team-best 13.5 points per game in a 2-0 weekend for the Red Storm, Curteeona Brelove has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her St. John's career.
The redshirt senior forward from Malone, Fla., tallied her team-leading 13.5 points per game on a team-best 47.0 percent shooting from the floor. In addition to lighting up the scoreboard, Brelove also stuffed the stat sheet in other ways, bringing down 3.5 boards per game to go along 1.0 steals per contest.
In a combined 57 minutes of action this weekend, Brelove did a stellar job protecting the ball, committing zero turnovers en route to the Johnnies first weekend sweep of conference play.
In the Red Storm's first win of the two-game road stretch, a 51-45 victory over Creighton, Brelove posted a team-high 15 points on a 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Brelove netted 10 of those points in the first quarter alone. In addition to her strong scoring performance, the 6-foot-2 forward also brought down a trio of rebounds and stole two passes against the Bluejays.
On Sunday afternoon against Providence, Brelove finished in double figures for the third-straight game and the 11th time this season, scoring 12 points in 28 minutes. Brelove made five of her 12 field goal attempts overall, while also grabbing four boards to even the season series with the Friars.
Brelove and the Johnnies will continue play on Friday evening when the team welcomes No.8/7 Marquette to Carnesecca Arena for a 7 p.m. showdown, before taking on DePaul on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
