Red White Club Supporters Help Make SJYOUGive a Success

Over $140,000 Raised in 1,870 Minutes to Support St. John’s Student-Athletes
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Athletics supporters rallied together for the SJUYOUGive campaign, raising $144,843 from 76 donors in 1,870 minutes this week to benefit the Red White Club. This year's record-setting figures shattered the 2018 totals of $18,437 from 25 supporters.
SJYOUGive is an annual giving day – a 31-hour campaign where St. John's alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are encouraged to participate. Named in honor of the year of St. John's founding, the goal is to inspire supporters to unite and make a gift to an area of the University.
During the 1,870-minute initiative, several Red White Club supporters incentivized others to give by pledging matching gifts and creating challenges for specific causes. Most notably, a pair of generous donors contributed lead gifts of $50,000. All proceeds support the St. John's Athletic Department and its overarching initiative to enhance the student-athlete experience.
"Athletic support for the Giving Day campaign was incredible," said Senior Director of Athletic Development Nick Vendikos. "It was inspiring to watch it unfold over 1,870 minutes as everyone — from our coaches, staff, administrators, Red White Club members, alumni and fans — joined together to invest in our athletic department. It proved, yet again, that every gift counts."
