Erica Di Maulo Signs Professional Contract in Finland

The former St. John’s standout will begin her professional career with Hämeenlinnan Lentopallokerho
QUEENS, N.Y. (April 29, 2020) – After helping St. John's capture the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament Championship and leading the team to its third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, Erica Di Maulo has signed her first professional contract with Finnish club Hämeenlinnan Lentopallokerho.
Di Maulo leaves the Red Storm as one of the most accomplished players in program history. Over the course of her college career, Di Maulo was a four-time All-BIG EAST First Team selection, a two-time AVCA All-East Coast Honorable Mention, an AVCA All-East Coast First Team member and was named the BIG EAST Co-Freshman of the Year in 2016.
As a senior in 2019, Di Maulo became St. John's all-time leader in assists after dishing out 4,995 helpers throughout her four years in Queens. Di Maulo further cemented herself in the history books by moving up to first place on the career service aces list with 148.
The Milan, Italy, native led the team with 1,189 assists and 48 service aces this fall. She also collected 242 digs and 56 blocks on the season. The six-foot setter was later named to the All-BIG EAST Tournament Team after averaging 11.29 assists per set across the Johnnies' two victories over Creighton and Marquette to capture the conference championship.
In 2018, she moved up to fourth place on the season assists list after registering 1,389 helpers. Di Maulo recorded over 1,160 assists in each of her four seasons with the Red Storm.
