Kweon drains a team-high 10 birdies over three rounds

The St. John's women's golf team placed eighth overall at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational on Sunday, shooting a combined score of 924 (+60) at the two-day 54-hole event.

Princeton claimed the team title with a three-round score of 891 (+27). The Tigers' Tiffany Kong earned medalist honors, carding a 5-over 221 to sit one-shot clear of teammate Yanjun Liu in second place.

For the second-straight event, senior Jessie Kweon led the way for the Red Storm. The Little Neck, N.Y., native carded a 78-71-75 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place. Over 54 holes, Kweon drained a team-high 10 birdies for the third most of any golfer at the tournament.

Graduate student Andrea Sanchez and redshirt freshman Amy Kim both finished 12-strokes back of Kweon. Sanchez turned in scores off 77-79-80, while Kim shot a 74-75-87.

Sophomore Angelica Kusnowo (81-78-78) and junior Cloe Clocchiatti (78-80-81) rounded out scoring for the Red Storm.

St. John's will return to action on Oct. 25-26, as the squad hosts the St. John's Invitational at Saint Andrew's Golf Club.
