Day Two Results

Chen leads St. John’s after 36 holes of play

The St. John's men's golf team wrapped up its second day of action at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse on Monday.

As a team, St. John's turned in a combined score of 304 on the day, ranking 10th overall in the standings. Rhode Island leads the event through the first 36 holes, turning in scores of 282-293-575.

For the Red Storm, freshman Peicheng Chen leads the way, sitting in a tie for 14th place with scores of 75 and 72. Chen's second-round effort was highlighted by a trio of birdies on the afternoon.

Junior Gage Wolfle finished three strokes back of Chen, turning in scores of 73 and 77 to tie for 26th after the first two rounds. Senior Tyler Gerbavsits followed Wolfle, signing off on a second-round 79 for a combined score of 74-79=153.

Seniors Joseph Busiello and Jack Simon rounded out scoring for the Red Storm lineup, shooting a 154 and 155, respectively.

St. John's will wrap up play at the event tomorrow, as the team is set to tee off at 8:35 a.m. Live results will be available throughout the day via Golfstat and will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of the round.
