Collins and Lipkens helped lift the Johnnies to victory in first round of NCAA Tournament
After leading the St. John's women's soccer team to victory against Brown in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon, Ava Collins and Naya Lipkens have been recognized by TopDrawerSoccer with spots on the National Team of Week, it was announced today.

Collins earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week for the first time this season. The Auckland, New Zealand, native converted on a golden goal in the 99th minute of Sunday's match to lift St. John's past the Bears in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The tally marked Collins' fourth goal of the season and her second game winner this year.

Lipkens, who logged her 10th solo shutout of the campaign against the Bears, earned a spot on the honorable mention list. The redshirt junior turned aside a trio of Brown tries that found its target. On the year, Lipkens' goals against average has fallen to 0.84 while his save percentage has risen to .816.

With contributions from Collins and Lipkens, the Johnnies will play in the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. The squad is set to face off against Samford on Friday at 4 p.m.
