Bailey averaged 19.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for Red Storm
After leading the St. John's women's basketball team to an undefeated week, senior guard Kadaja Bailey has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
The Long Beach, N.Y., native paced the way for the Red Storm squad, averaging 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in wins over Temple and Yale.
Bailey kicked off the week with a career-high 24 points against the Owls on Wednesday evening. The 6-foot guard knocked down four shots from beyond-the-arc and went a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. In addition to her scoring prowess, Bailey pulled down a team-high eight rebounds while also dishing out a pair of assists at Temple.
Four days later, against Yale, Bailey produced her third double-digit scoring output of the season, chipping in 14 points against the Bulldogs. Bailey knocked down five of her 10 attempts from the floor, including four of her seven tries from distance. Bailey also grabbed seven boards and dished out four helpers against the Johnnies' Ivy League foe. Through four games this season, Bailey has pulled down five or more rebounds in three of those contests.
Bailey and the Red Storm return to action this weekend with a trip to the Sunshine State for the Gulf Coast Showcase. St. John's will open up play against Penn State on Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. for the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
