Graduate student led the Red Storm to NCAA Round of 16 for first time in program history
QUEENS, N.Y. – After turning in one of the finest individual seasons in program history and leading the Red Storm to its first NCAA Round of 16 appearance, Zsani Kajan checked in at no. 34 on the TopDrawerSoccer Postseason Top 100.

Kajan, the second-highest-rated BIG EAST player on the list, scored 17 goals and dished out six assists in 23 appearances for the Red Storm this season. Her 17 markers paced the BIG EAST and ranked fourth in the nation.

For her efforts, Kajan, who was one of just eight players in the nation to tally 40 or more points in 2021, earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second time and became just the third Johnnie in program history to be named a United Soccer Coaches All-American.Â

The Budapest, Hungary, product posted five multi-goal efforts this season, including a pair of hat tricks. Her 17 goals tied with Cristin Burtis (1994) for third on the Red Storm's single-season record list in that category and trailed only single-season efforts of 23 (2013) and 19 (2015) by Rachel Daly.

Kajan, who scored the game-winner in the Red Storm's BIG EAST Semifinal upset over Xavier, wrapped her five-year St. John's career with 45 goals and 11 assists for 101 points. Only Daly, who scored 50 goals and dished out 11 assists for 111 points, produced more in a St. John's uniform.Â
