Johnnies earn 10 votes in national poll
The St. John's women's soccer team received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Storm tied Brown and the University of South Florida with 10 votes each. The Johnnies last received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll during the 2016 campaign.
St. John's highest ranking in program history came during its first NCAA Tournament season in 2009, when the Johnnies vaulted to No. 17 in the NSCAA Poll.
The Red Storm women's soccer team is coming off of a historic season that was capped by an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16. The Johnnies concluded their unforgettable season with an overall record of 13-7-3 and a 6-3-1 mark in BIG EAST action. Earning its 14th conference tournament berth, St. John's made an appearance in the 2021 BIG EAST Championship game for the first time since the 1994 season.
The Red Storm's success over the 2021 campaign was anchored by graduate forward Zsani Kajan. The two-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year found the back of the net a conference-best 17 times this season to lead the squad and rank inside the top-five on the national level.
