Redshirt senior checks in at no. 62 in the rankings
St. John's women's soccer redshirt senior Zsani Kajan has been recognized by TopDrawerSoccer as one of the nation's most elite players.
The Budapest, Hungary, native checked in at no. 62 in the publication's preseason top 100 rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
Kajan, who was named the 2021 BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, found the back of the net a team-most 11 times in 2019. Kajan averaged a conference-leading 1.67 points per match over nine BIG EAST contests, scoring a league-best seven goals against conference foes.
With 11 goals over the 2019 campaign, Kajan tied her season-high total, as she became one of just three players in program history to record double-digit scoring in multiple seasons, joining Rachel Daly and Cristin Burtis.
Kajan has added a slew of preseason accolades to her resume this year. In addition to being named the conference's preseason top offensive player of the year, she also earned unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team and tabbed a spot on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Heading into her senior season, Kajan currently ranks fifth on the all-time list in goals scored with 24, and is tied for eighth overall in points with 51.
The St. John's women's soccer team will begin its 2021 spring season on Feb. 21 when the squad welcomes Albany to Belson Stadium for a 2 p.m. match up.
