Women’s Golf in First After Round One at Sacred Heart Invitational

Graduate student Linda Wang is tied for third after first 18 holes
The St. John's women's golf team fired off a first-round 299 (+11) to sit atop the leaderboard following day one of the Sacred Heart Spring Invitational.
The Johnnies currently have a two-stroke lead over Boston College, who sits in second following the first round of play.
Graduate student Linda Wang leads the way for the Red Storm and is tied for third overall in the standings, tuning in a 1-over 73 on the day. The Fresh Meadows, N.Y., native drained a tournament-high five birdies on the afternoon.
Freshman Angelica Kusnowo sits one stroke back of Wang, carding a 74 to sit in a tie for sixth. Three other Johnnies sit inside the top-15 following the first round of action, as Cloe Clocchiatti, Jessie Kweon and Jill Beglin, who is competing as an individual, all signed off on a 76.
Senior Andrea Sanchez rounded out scoring for the Red Storm lineup, shooting a 79 on the day. Competing as an individual, sophomore Laia Barro finished with a score of 87.
