Red Storm Concludes Round Two of BIG EAST Championship

Kweon and Wang lead St. John’s after first two rounds of BIG EAST Championship
The St. John's women's golf team remains in fourth place following the second round of play at the BIG EAST Championship on Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla.
As a team, St. John's shot a second round 311 (+23) to sit ahead of both Butler and Georgetown in the standings.
Graduate student Linda Wang and junior Jessie Kweon lead the way for St. John's after 36 holes. Kweon shot a second-round 3-over 75 to jump eight spots in the standings. The Little Neck, N.Y., native opened up the afternoon with three-straight birdies before making the turn at even-par 36. Kweon then drained seven-consecutive pars on the back nine before wrapping up the day at 3-over 75. Wang shot an 80 (+8) on the day, as the two sit in a tie for 15th overall in the standings.
Freshman Angelica Kusnowo and senior Andrea Sanchez are tied for 22nd following the first two rounds of action. Kusnowo drained a trio of birdies on the back nine, signing off on a 77 (+5) to jump three places on the leaderboard. Sanchez used two birdies to turn in a 79 (+7).
Sophomore Cloe Clocchiatti sits one stroke back of Kusnowo and Sanchez in the overall standings, turning in a second-round 80 (+8) to tie for 24th.
Xavier moved into first in the team standings, shooting a 296 (+8), to sit six strokes clear of second-place Creighton. Seton Hall remains in third after the first two rounds, recording a 309 (+21) in the second round.
Butler's Claire Edwards shot an even-par 72 on the day to sit atop the leaderboard following 36 holes of play.
The Red Storm returns to the course tomorrow morning, as the golfers tee off at 8 a.m. for the final round of the BIG EAST Championship.
