After opening with a 73 the rising sophomore posted a final round 65 to take home medalist honors at the Public Links Championship. The Red Storm standout proved clutch down the stretch, as he sunk three birdie putts over the final five holes to earn medalist honors.
A week later, Chen kept his momentum going, as he began the Long Island Amateur as the eighth-seed at the match play event. The rising sophomore played 89 holes of golf over the span of four days, closing out the tournament with a 7 & 5 victory over second-seeded Sam O'Hara in a 36-hole crusade.
