The contest will mark the 15th-ever game for the women's basketball program at MSG and the first since it faced DePaul on Feb. 17, 2019. The Johnnies hold an even 7-7 record at "The Mecca" and have faced Villanova once at the iconic venue, earning a 65-55 victory on Jan. 21, 2006.
The St. John's women's basketball program is coming off of its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016 and its first win in nine years. The Johnnies posted a 23-9 overall record and went 13-7 in a competitive BIG EAST that sent five teams to the Big Dance last year.
