Frank Shaffer Announced as Athletic Development Officer for Special Events

St. John’s newest hire brings a wealth of experience to Queens
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Athletics has announced the addition of Frank Shaffer as Athletic Development Officer for Special Events on Monday.
Shaffer most recently worked at Geneseco Sports Enterprises (GSE) as an account manager. In his two years, he oversaw over 120 experiential sponsorship events for General Motors partners within the Northeast Region.
Prior to his time at GSE, Shaffer worked as the Alumni Services Coordinator at Army West Point Athletics Association. In this role, he oversaw several programs in which he created and implemented a marketing plan, tracked data, and processed donations. Before becoming the Alumni Services Coordinator, Shaffer held the position of the Assistant Director of Annual Giving at Army West Point. His duties included fundraiser support, planning and coordinating events, and data reporting.
Along with experience in events and fundraising, Shaffer has expertise in sales and marketing as well, working with Legends Global Sales at its Notre Dame and SMU properties. Shaffer also served as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Sales at Ohio University.
In addition to an extensive professional resume, Shaffer brings an educational background that includes two master's degrees to Queens. He earned his master's in business administration and sport administration from Ohio University after completing his bachelor's in business management from Lourdes University, where he competed as a member of the baseball program for four years. Shaffer resides in Brooklyn with his wife Jamilah, son Malakai, and dog Maverick.
