Jack Simon Closes Out NCAA Regionals On Wednesday

Simon became the first Red Storm player to compete in the NCAA Tournament in nine years
BATH, Mich.- St. John's men's golfer Jack Simon closed out his season on Wednesday at NCAA Regionals.
Simon ended the tournament in a deadlock for 68th place after shooting a three-round score of 13-over in Michigan against the nation's top competition.
The fifth-year player shot a tournament personal best in his third and final round on Wednesday. Simon carded a 3-over, 74, at Eagle Eye Golf Club.
For the second-straight day, the Sparta, N.J., native filled the front of his scorecard with pars recording five to start the round. He made the turn to the back nine after logging a 3-over, 38, on the front.
In the closing stages of the tournament, Simon bogeyed the 10th hole but finished strong scoring 1-under through the final eight holes, highlighted by a birdied on the par-5 14th hole.
The BIG EAST Individual Champion wrapped up his St. John's career in impressive fashion becoming the first Red Storm player to play in an NCAA Regional in nine years and the first title winner since 2015. Simon joins an exclusive fraternity of just eight St. John's golfers that have ever captured the conference crown.
