Wiktoria Kowalczyk Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

Junior setter powered the Red Storm to a 2-1 record at the FGCU Homewood Suites Invitational
QUEENS, N.Y. – After a 2-1 opening weekend of play at the FGCU Homewood Suites Invitational, junior setter Wiktoria Kowalczyk has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
This marks the first time Kowalczyk has been tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Starting in all three matches over the weekend, the Warsaw, Poland native tallied an impressive 84 assists, four kills, two aces, 19 digs and six blocks. She was also named to the FGCU Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Kowalczyk led the Red Storm in assists twice throughout the weekend. On Saturday, she posted 22 assists, eight digs and an ace against Arizona State.
During St. John's reverse sweep of host school FGCU on Sunday afternoon, the talented setter provided a crucial 45 assists, 14 of which came in the second set, to go along with eight digs and five blocks.
Kowalczyk and the Johnnies will return to the court this weekend when they take on Utah Tech, New Mexico and CSU Bakersfield at the UNM Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. All three matches will be streamed on the Mountain West Network, with live stats available at GoLobos.com
