Jessica Garziano Selected in NWSL Draft by Angel City F.C.

Garziano selected in the fourth round with the 44th overall pick
ANAHEIM, Calif.– St. John's women's soccer standout Jessica Garziano was selected 44th overall by Angel City F.C. in the 2024 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) draft.
Garziano was drafted in the fourth round of the 56-pick draft on Friday night in Anaheim, Calif. The Long Island native will head to Los Angeles to begin her professional career.
She becomes the third player in program history to get drafted to the NWSL and the second in the last three years. Zsani Kajan was selected eighth overall by the OL Reign in 2021 and Rachel Daly was chosen sixth overall by the Houston Dash in 2016
The midfielder wrapped up one of the most decorated careers in program history as she starred for the Red Storm from 2019-2023.
Garziano collected a plethora of accolades including United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American, BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, United Soccer Coaches Scholar American First Team and many more.
The program's all-time assist leader tallying 34 over her illustrious career and tied the single-season record this fall logging 11 helpers.
The midfielder led the BIG EAST in points (31), assists (11) and finished second in goals (10). She averaged 0.58 helpers per game, which ranked 11th nationally. Garziano's single-season point mark ranks fifth all-time in program history and 22nd in the country.
The Long Island native tallied a point in 15 of the 16 games that the Johnnies' score a goal. Garziano contributed a goal or assist on 21 of the squad's 33 goals (63.6 percent). She recorded 12 multi-point games including a season-high five in the win over Harvard.
Garziano finished the season tied for first in St. John's history in assists (11), sixth in points (31), tied for 10th in goals (10). For her career, she ranks 1st in assists (33), fifth in points (77) and tied for seventh in goals (22).
