St. John’s Dance and Cheer Shines at The UDA and UCA National Championships

The Red Storm took second place in open spirit gameday program and third in hip-hop
ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. John's dance and cheer teams celebrated another successful season at the UDA and the UCA National Championships at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The squads took home second and third place in the open spirit gameday presentation and hip-hop categories, respectively.
For the second straight season, the Red Storm dance and cheer teams took home second place in the open spirit gameday, finishing with a final score of 94.15. The Johnnies fell just one point shy of LIU, who claimed the 2024 national championship in the category.
In the hip-hop section, St. John's earned third place, continuing its long-term success in the competition. The program tallied a final score of 87.57. Last season, the Johnnies claimed second in hip-hop and have previously won national titles in 2020 and 2016.
The Red Storm dance and cheer squads will be back in action on Wednesday when the St. John's women's basketball team takes on Butler inside Carnesecca Arena at 7 p.m.
