Women’s Basketball to Host Butler at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 16

Red Storm will play inside The World’s Most Famous Arena for second-straight year
QUEENS, N.Y.– The St. John's women's basketball program will return to Madison Square Garden for a BIG EAST contest against Butler on Feb. 16.
The Red Storm and Bulldogs will tip-off from The World's Most Famous Arena at approximately 5:30 p.m. The two squads will play in the second leg of a doubleheader following St. John's men's basketball's contest against Creighton, which will begin at 3 p.m.
It will mark the 18th game in the history of the program to be played at Madison Square Garden and first-ever against the Bulldogs. The Red Storm hold an all-time record of 10-7 at "The Mecca" and 13th year Head Coach Joe Tartamella has posted a 4-2 mark at the iconic Midtown Manhattan venue.
Last year, the Johnnies made their return to MSG for the first time since 2019 to open BIG EAST play against Villanova on Dec. 16, 2023 as part of a Holiday Festival tripleheader. The Red Storm edged the Wildcats, 51-46, holding them without a field goal for the final 7:05. Jailah Donald drilled a crucial 3-pointer with 2:11 left to play and Jillian Archer paced the squad with 15 points and 14 boards.
Ticket and streaming information for the doubleheader will be available at a later date.
The following Sunday on Feb. 23, the Red Storm will welcome Seton Hall to Carnesecca Arena for a 4:30 p.m. start in Queens.
The 50th anniversary season of St. John's women's basketball will begin on Nov.4 when the Red Storm host Saint Peter's. To purchase season tickets for just $50 click here.
