NEW YORK– St. John's women's soccer standout Jailene DeJesus was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday morning.
DeJesus earns the all-conference honor the first time in her four-year career in Queens after leading the Red Storm in every offensive category in 2024.
The Wyomissing, Pa., native rebounded from a slow start tallying 15 points (six goals, three assists) over the final 12 matches. The senior ranked top-10 in the BIG EAST in goals (T-8th at 6), points (T-10th at 15) and shots (7th at 47).
During BIG EAST play, the veteran tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points over 10 league matches. All three of those marks led the Johnnies and ranked top-10 in the conference.
Over a three-week stretch during the middle of the campaign from Sept. 12-Oct. 3, DeJesus went on a tear recording 12 of her 15 points during that span. She recorded four of her five multi-point games during that span including a career-high four-point performance after scoring a brace in a 2-2 draw against Seton Hall on Sept. 29.
DeJesus was no stranger to landing on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll earning three nods on Sept. 16, Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, the most by any St. John's player.
The versatile midfielder concludes her St. John's career with 70 appearances and 41 starts accumulating nine goals and six assists for 24 points. She ends her time in Queens as a member of three BIG EAST Tournament teams and a role player as a freshman on the 2021 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16.
DeJesus becomes the 49th All-BIG EAST selection in program history, all under Head Coach Ian Stone, who just completed his 31st year at the helm. The Red Storm have had a player earn All-BIG EAST honors in each of the last seven seasons.
