Lashae Dwyer Earns Fourth BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Nod

The senior ranks 11th in NCAA Division I with 34 steals on the year
NEW YORK– For the fourth time this season, St. John's women's basketball guard Lashae Dwyer was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Monday.
Dwyer continues to pace the Red Storm turning in another pair of strong performances as the team wrapped up conference play with a 10-1 record. The Johnnies reached double-digits non-conference wins for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.
The senior turned in a pair of double-digit scoring efforts this past week and averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game as St. John's took down Hofstra and Fairfield. On the year, the Toronto native is averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game and has tallied 34 steals on the year, which ranks 11th in NCAA Division I.
In the lockdown defensive effort at Hofstra, Dwyer added a game-high 18 points in the 62-38 win over the Pride. The Miami transfer logged four assists and shot made eight field goals on Long Island.
In the non-conference finale against Fairfield, the guard registered her 10th double-figure scoring performance of the season totaling 13 points in the 77-68 victory. The senior shot 55.6 percent (5-9) from the field recorded four assists and four steals in the win over the Stags.
Just six weeks into the season, Dwyer garners BIG EAST Honor Roll recognition for the fourth time and second consecutive week. Additionally, she was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association Player of the Week on Dec. 10.
St. John's will begin BIG EAST play on Saturday when it travels to Villanova for a 2 p.m. contest at Finneran Pavilion.
