St. John’s Finishes BIG EAST Championships Tied for Fourth

Xuan Khue Minh Doan tallied a seventh place finish
BEAUFORT, S.C.– The St. John's women's golf team slid up the leaderboard in Monday's final round to tie for the fourth place at the 2024 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships presented by JEEP.
The Red Storm finished the three- round, three-day conference tournament with a total score of 61-over to tie with Butler for fourth place. The fourth-place finish marks the Johnnies' fourth over the last five tournaments.
The squad logged the third-best final round score amongst the field carding a 19-over, 307, on Monday at Callawassie Island Golf Club.
For the fifth-consecutive time, Xavier took home the coveted BIG EAST Championship and the Musketeers' Emma Welch claimed the individual title.
Xuan Khue Minh Doan continued to move up the leaderboard tying for seventh with an overall score of 7-over, 223. In the third round, the sophomore tallied three back-nine birdies to finish on a strong note with a mark of 2-over, 74. In her first season in Queens, Minh Doan finished best on the team in all 10 events and recorded seven top-15 finishes.
Fellow sophomore Kelly Wu posted a top-15 finish checking in at tied for 13th in Beaufort, S.C. The Auckland, New Zealand native ended the event with a 12-over, 228 and shot 6-over, 78, over the final 18 holes.
Cloe Clocchiatti registered a personal tournament-low 5-over, 77 to claim 18th place. The graduate student concluded the championship with an 18-over, 234 to earn her second-straight top-20 finish at the BIG EAST Tournament.
Amy Kim substituted in for the final for the Red Storm and shot a 6-over, 78, on a sunny Monday morning in the Palmetto State.
The BIG EAST Championships concludes the 2023-24 women's golf season and the Red Storm will take the course once again in September.
