St. John’s Named to WBCA Academic Top 25 Special Mention

Red Storm recognized nationally for academic performance

ATLANTA– The St. John's women's basketball program earned Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Special Mention, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPA's inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The Red Storm turned in a 3.1 cumulative team GPA and had nine student-athletes achieve a 3.0 or higher. St. John's was one of six BIG EAST programs honored by the WBCA.

The Johnnies are coming off a third place finish in the BIG EAST and a second-straight postseason appearance, advancing to the WBIT Second Round in 2023-24.
