Former Red Storm men’s golfer captures seventh PGA Tour win
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (Aug. 25, 2024)– Former St. John's men's golfer Keegan Bradley won his seventh PGA Tour event on Sunday evening taking home the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club.
After being the last player to make the field, Bradley recorded a 12-under, 276, over four rounds in Colorado. The victory catapulted him 46 spots into fourth on the FedEx Cup Playoffs leaderboard heading into next week's TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Additionally, he moved up to No. 11 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
The 2008 St. John's graduate hung onto the one stroke lead and sat at 12-under heading into Sunday's final round. Bradley went 14 holes bogey-free to capture the second BMW Championship of his career.
It was announced earlier this summer that the St. John's Hall of Famer will be the United States Ryder Cup Captain in 2025 at Bethpage Black. Bradley joined only Jack Nicklaus and Davis Love III as the only captains to ever win on tour.
Sunday's victory marked his first since the 2023 Travelers Championship on June 25, 2023. He has tallied victories at the BMW Championship (2018, '24), the Travelers Championship (2023), the ZOZO Championship (2022), The Byron Nelson (2011), the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2012) and a major title at the 2011 PGA Championship.
During his time in Queens, Bradley starred from 2004-08, totaling nine individual victories during his career, which ranks second-best in program history. While with the Red Storm, he finished no lower than ninth at the BIG EAST Championship and earned an at-large bid to NCAA Regionals during his senior year, Bradley was enshrined into the St. John's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.
