Rayven Peeples Signs with SBŠ Ostrava in the Czech Republic

Former Red Storm forward was named to the Women’s British Basketball League All-Defensive Team in 2023-24
QUEENS, N.Y.– Former St. John's women's basketball forward Rayven Peeples signed a new professional contract with SBŠ Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
The 2023 graduate will continue her successful stint overseas competing in the Czech Women's Basketball League.
Peeples professional career got off to a strong start with the Leicester Riders in England. The 6-foot-4 post-presence was named to the Women's British Basketball League All-Defensive Team following a standout rookie campaign. The Detroit, Mich., native averaged 28.1 minutes, 12.9 points on 63.2 percent shooting and 11.0 rebounds per game in 2023-24.
Peeples was a standout player for the Red Storm from 2020-23.. The forward finished her career in Queens as the program's all-time leader in field goal percentage with an impressive mark of 59.6 percent and played an integral role in leading the Johnnies back to the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
An efficient shooter, the post player holds three of the top four spots for best field goal percentage in a single season. During her first year with the program in 2020-21, Peeples shot 61.7 percent from the field, which ranks second all-time in Red Storm women's basketball history.
A remarkable rebounder, the Detroit, Mich., native ranked sixth in the BIG EAST, averaging 8.7 boards per game. Peeples collected 278 total rebounds during the 2022-23 campaign, which ranks sixth-most in St. John's history. The redshirt senior logged double-figures in rebounding in 12 games, including matching a career-high 17 boards against Temple on Nov. 17, 2022.
A stellar defender, Peeples ranked sixth in the conference blocks tallying 1.2 per game in 32 starts for the Red Storm during her final season in 2022-23.
Prior to coming to St. John's, Peeples spent one season apiece at Northwest Florida and North Carolina A&T.
