Tyler Morck Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The Bethpage, N.Y. product scored first collegiate goal against No. 6 Marshall
QUEENS, N.Y. – After providing the equalizer in the St. John's men's soccer team's 1-1 draw against No. 6 Marshall, midfielder Tyler Morck earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The Bethpage, N.Y., native played just 27 minutes in the contest and knocked home his first collegiate goal in the 67th minute of Saturday's tie. The midfielder broke into the box on a bending Julian Jakopovic cross that found leaping Thomas Lamaille. The senior defender headed a pass to the feet of Morck, who found twine in the lower left corner on a right-footed strike.
Morck became the sixth different Red Storm goal scorer this season. His 67th-minute tally was the second-latest goal by a Johnnie this season behind Macoumba Ba, who fired a penalty kick into the back of the net in the 72nd minute against UAlbany on Sept. 1.
St. John's will open BIG EAST action on Friday when it travels to Xavier. The contest from Corcoran Field in Cincinnati will begin at 7 p.m. and will be streamed to FloFC.
