Kylie Lavelle Selected to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Lavelle averaged 18.5 points on 68.1 percent shooting from the floor last week
NEW YORK – St. John's women's basketball forward Kylie Lavelle was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Lavelle tallies her first BIG EAST honor after averaging 18.5 points on 68.1 (15-22) percent shooting from the floor and 60 (6-10 percent from beyond-the-arc against DePaul and Xavier. The junior scored in double-figures in both contests last week.
The forward exploded for a season-high 23 points on an efficient 9-of-12 shooting (75 percent), powering the Red Storm to a BIG EAST victory against Xavier, 60-39. Lavelle drilled a career-high four triples, shooting 4-for-6 (66.7 percent) from long range in Cincinnati, Ohio. She also chipped in three boards, three assists, a steal and a block in the game. The Moosic, Pa., native got off to a scorching start recording three triples and 11 points in the opening quarter.
The standout's 23-point performance in the Queen City marked the second 20-point game of her career and the first since she scored a career-high 31 points on Nov. 15, 2022, while at Drexel.
Lavelle went for 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting (60 percent) and made two 3-pointers in the Red Storm's contest against DePaul inside Carnesecca Arena, on Tuesday. The Moosic, Pa., native also grabbed four rebounds against the Blue Demons.
The junior is currently averaging 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and paces the team shooting 52.6 percent from the field.
Lavelle joins teammate Lashae Dwyer as the second Red Storm player to be tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season.
Lavelle and the Red Storm will return to Carnesecca Arena on Wednesday night to face No. 7/8 UConn at 7 p.m. on SNY.
