St. John’s Women’s Tennis Unveils 2026 Schedule

Red Storm set to compete in 20 matches, including six BIG EAST contests
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Women's Tennis Head Coach Lauren Leo has announced the program's 2026 20-match spring schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
The Johnnies are set to compete in 20 matches in the spring, including six BIG EAST tilts. The Red Storm have 10 home matches at the USTA National Tennis Center and Cunningham Park. Dates, times and locations are subject to change.
St. John's enters the 2025–26 campaign following a 14-7 record and its 10th consecutive BIG EAST Tournament Semifinal appearance last season. Leo returns six members from last year's squad, while introducing two new additions to this season's roster.
The Red Storm will open the season with a pair of dual matches in Fort Myers, Fla. St. John's will take on host Florida Gulf Coast for the fifth time ever on Jan. 16. Two days later, on Jan. 18, the Johnnies will take on Miami Ohio in the Sunshine State.
St. John's will host Fairfield for its home opener against Fairfield at the USTA National Tennis Center on Jan. 30. The Johnnies topped the Stags, 4–1, in last season's meeting on Jan. 24.
On Feb. 1, the Red Storm will make a quick trip to New Jersey for a showdown with Princeton, marking the first meeting between the programs since 2014.
The Johnnies will then open a three-match homestand at the USTA National Tennis Center. St. John's hosts Rider on Feb. 6, followed by a Feb. 8 matchup with Monmouth. The Red Storm will close out the stretch against Hofstra on Feb. 13. This marks the third straight season the Red Storm will face all three programs on their spring slate.
Up next is a Valentine's Day matchup with Yale. The location and time is to be determined.
On Feb. 20, the Johnnies will return to Queens to open BIG EAST play against UConn at 12:15 p.m. Last spring, Noemi Babikova delivered a strong performance with a 6–4, 6–1 straight-set win at the No. 2 singles spot, but the Huskies ultimately edged out a 4–3 victory in a tightly contested battle.
St. John's will remain at home the following week to welcome New Haven on Feb. 27 at 12:15 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center. The matchup marks the first meeting between the programs as Division I opponents, following the Chargers' transition to NCAA Division I in July 2025.
The Johnnies will hit the road for their first BIG EAST road matchup at Providence on Feb. 28, The Johnnies have won 17 consecutive meetings over the Friars, dating back to 2004.
Over spring break, Coach Leo's squad will head to the Sunshine State for a two-match swing. The Red Storm will face Stetson in DeLand, Fla., on March 3 before meeting Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach the following day.
The Johnnies will return to Queens on March 13 for a BIG EAST showdown with DePaul at the USTA National Tennis Center at 12:15 p.m. In last season's meeting, St. John's mounted a dramatic 4–3 comeback after trailing 3–0. Gomez sparked the rally with a commanding straight-set win on the No. 6 singles court, before Babikova closed it out with a hard-fought three-set victory in Chicago to lift the Red Storm past the Blue Demons.
The Red Storm will then head to the City of Brotherly Love for a battle with Saint Joseph's on March 20 before making the short trip to Villanova on March 22 to face the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament runner-up in a conference showdown.
Up next, St. John's opens its final stretch of home matches beginning with Georgetown on March 28. Last season, the Johnnies edged the Hoyas, 4-3, in the nation's capital.
