St. John’s Volleyball posts multiple honorees for the first time since 2022
GREENWOOD, Ind. – St. John's volleyball seniors Erin Jones and Ludovica Zola have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their excellence both on the volleyball court and in the classroom, the organization announced on Tuesday. Jones will advance to the national ballot and is a finalist for an Academic All-American selection.
The pair are the first to appear on the CSC All-District team since a quartet of Rachele Rastelli, Eleonora Tosi, Giorgia Walther and Wiktoria Kowalczyk were selected in 2022.
Jones continues to add to her lengthy resume, adding her first CSC award. Playing in 128 matches as a Johnnie, the Albuquerque, N.M., native continues to put herself in rare company. She joins Rastelli as the only players in program history to record an AVCA All-Region, All-BIG EAST and CSC All-District honors in the same season. Jones holds a remarkable 3.98 GPA as a biology major and is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year of her collegiate career.
On the court, the setter/opposite hitter was the first player in program and conference history to record 1,000 career kills, 1,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs. She concluded her career with 1,323 kills, 1,295 digs and 1,014 digs. She ranks eighth in program history in kills.
During the 2025 campaign Jones set a career high with 532 assists, in addition to logging 294 kills and 269 digs. She notched a career-high 28 kills during a 3-1 win at Providence on Oct. 3, become the first Johnnie to record 25 kills in a game since 2021. Just over four weeks later, she dished a staggering 55 assists against the Friars in Carnesecca Arena to set a career best during a five-set thriller on Alumni Day.
Zola has been a model of academic excellence and athletic success throughout her Red Storm career. The Milan, Italy, native has been a corner stone of the Johnnies front row.
Appearing in 120 matches, the middle blocker wrapped up her tenure with 344 kills, 127 digs and 337 career blocks, which sits 10th all-time in program history.
She holds an impressive 3.87 GPA as a biomedical science major and is currently serving as a member of the St. John's University President's Society, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed on students at the university. Zola is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year of her collegiate career.
Over the course of the 2025 season, Zola logged 58 kills, 22 digs and 53 total blocks, averaging 0.68 blocks per set. Against Providence, she tied her career-best 10 kills in a 3-2 victory in Carnesecca Arena. On Oct. 4, Zola rejected a team-high six shots at UConn.
