Brooke Moore Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Junior guard averaged 15.0 points in 1-1 week for the Red Storm
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's women's basketball guard Brooke Moore earned her second straight BIG EAST weekly accolade on Monday, finding a place on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office.
The BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 1, Moore averaged 15.0 points on 60.0 percent (9-15) shooting from the field and 92.3 percent (12-13) and 8.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm.
Moore led the charge in the Johnnies' comeback effort in a 62-55 win over Providence on Sunday. The 6-foot guard led all scorers with 16 points and went a perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the foul line. Moore exploded in the second half, scoring 14 of her total 16 points in the period in addition to chipping in six boards, one assist and one block. The Red Storm outscored the Friars, 36-13, over the final 15:57 of the contest.
In Thursday's BIG EAST opener against Creighton, the Kennesaw, Ga., native tied her career-high with 11 rebounds and tallied 14 points on a 4-of-6 (66.7%) shooting clip.
Moore has been on a tear for the Johnnies, tallying double-figure scoring efforts in eight of her last 10 appearances. Over her last five contests, the veteran has put up three double-doubles and is averaging 15.0 points per game against BIG EAST opponents. St. John's is currently ranked first in Division I with two-point field goal percentage of 62.6%. Individually, Moore is shooting 60.5% from the field, good enough for second in the BIG EAST and 22nd in Division I.
Moore and the Red Storm will return to action on Wednesday night at Stony Brook. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on FloSports.
