St. John’s Head Coach Rick Pitino to Join WFAN’s Boomer & Gio Show

Pitino will talk Red Storm Hoops on WFAN Tuesday at 9 a.m.; CBS Sports Network will carry the live simulcast
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Hall of Fame Head Coach Rick Pitino will join WFAN's "Boomer & Gio" show on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. Pitino will talk Red Storm Hoops with host Gregg Giannotti along with 10-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl champion Willie Colon. CBS Sports Network will also carry the live simulcast of "Boomer & Gio."
Pitino has led the No. 10/9 St. John's men's basketball team to a 22-4 record and carry a 13-2 mark in BIG EAST play, which is the top mark in the conference standings. The Red Storm strung together 10-straight BIG EAST wins from Jan. 4 to Feb. 7, the program's longest conference streak since 1984-85 when the Johnnies advanced to the NCAA Tournament Final Four.
St. John's is coming off a 79-73 victory over then-No. 24/21 Creighton on Sunday at Madison Square Garden to improve to a perfect 16-0 at home this season. The win marked the Red Storm's third over a top-25 opponent in the last 12 days. RJ Luis Jr. paced the Johnnies with 23 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals against the Bluejays.
The Red Storm returns to action on Wednesday when it visits DePaul for a 9 p.m. ET showdown on FS1. St. John's then returns to a sold-out Madison Square Garden on Sunday to host Connecticut at 12 p.m. The Johnnies will play their regular season home finale on March 1 at The World's Most Famous Arena against Seton Hall.
