Rao’s Hosts Sixth-Edition of “An Afternoon with St. John’s Women’s Basketball”

The event raised $80,000 for the women’s basketball program on Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y.– The Red Storm hosted the sixth edition of "An Afternoon with St. John's Women's Basketball" at Rao's, one of the most exclusive restaurants in New York City on Wednesday.
Proud supporters of the program joined Head Coach Joe Tartamella and St. John's University President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. for a sold-out event at the iconic Italian restaurant located in Harlem.
Overall, the event raised $80,000 with all proceeds going directly to the advancement of the women's basketball program.
The event began with Master of Ceremonies Dave Gildea welcoming attendees and before President Shanley and Coach Tartamella express their gratitude to all of the attendees for their support of the program and Rao's for graciously hosting the event.
After the meal, an auction was held and the items are still available online until 9 p.m. tonight. To browse through the silent auction items, click here.
