Jaylen Vallecillo Tabbed to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK- St. John's women's soccer forward Jaylen Vallecillo was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

After logging a brace in the 2-2 draw with FDU on Thursday, Jamaica. Queens native earns her first honor roll nod of the season. The forward is tied for the team lead with two goals and ranks second on the squad with four points.

The freshmen logged two goals to put the Red Storm up, 2-0, just 8:44 apart. Vallecillo's first goal came off a set piece heading a ball home that drifted into the side of the net. In the 53^rd minute, she doubled the Johnnies' lead bouncing a header over the FDU goalkeeper off assists from Madison Mariani and Julia Lombardo.

Vallecillo played 44 minutes as the Red Storm recorded an impressive scoreless draw with Boston College on Sunday, 0-0.

Vallecillo becomes the fourth St. John's player to be honored by the BIG EAST this season joining Kayla Bower, Leana Ruizand Mariani.

The Red Storm will be back in action on Saturday night when it opens BIG EAST play at UConn on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
