Sa’Mya Wyatt Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore forward averaged 16.0 points in 1-1 week for the Red Storm
NEW YORK – St. John's women's basketball forward Sa'Mya Wyatt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Wyatt averaged 16.0 points and 9.5 rebounds on 55.0% (11-20) shooting from the field and went perfect from the 3-point line and the charity stripe.
The Powder Springs, Ga. native was a leader for St. John's in both games on the week. Wyatt recorded 13 rebounds, tying her career-high and accounting for half of the team's total boards. Additionally, she chipped in two assists and a steal.
The forward netted a career-high 28 points to pace the Johnnies while tallying six rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal. The sophomore 66.7% (10-15) to register the highest scoring total by a Red Storm player since Unique Drake exploded for 37 points in the WBIT First Round win at Florida on March 21, 2024, in the 66-64 win over Xavier on Jan. 17.
Wyatt, the 2024-25 ASUN Freshman of the Year at Austin Peay, captured her first weekly honor in the BIG EAST. The sophomore is the second player to be recognized by the league this season, joining Brooke Moore.
Wyatt and the Red Storm will return to action on Wednesday night to host Marquette for Y2K Night. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. on Peacock.
