QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's soccer team fell to Marquette on a chilly October evening at Cox Family Field at Belson Stadium, 2-0.

St. John's (3-6-5, 0-2-4 BIG EAST) would total four shots on the evening compared to Marquette's(7-1-6, 3-0-2 BIG EAST) 14 attempts. The Golden Eagles registered a pair of corner kicks, with the Johnnies tallying just one.

The Red Storm nearly netted a goal within the first 10 minutes of the first half on a cross through the box that didn't materialize. Marquette would settle in, finding the back in the 13th minute off a shot from Sheehan.

Following the goal, the Golden Eagles would continue applying pressure, taking five total shots on net during the first half. The Red Storm were unable to put a shot up through the first 45 minutes.

St. John's would open the second half with a drive down the field, taking their first shot of the night by a header from Daisy Burt that landed off target. However, momentum would swing back to Marquette's side, attempting a corner kick that resulted in zero outcome.

In the 54th minute, the Golden Eagles would again strike, with Coco Dorfman adding the second tally of the night to make it 2-0. The Red Storm would attempt their first corner kick of the evening in the 60th minute, with a shot that would fall short.

With the clock against them, St. John's would fire off two shot attempts, both resulting in no success. Marquette would continue through the final 20 minutes applying pressure on the Johnnies side, not allowing their offense to find an answer.
