QUEENS, N.Y. – Former St. John's volleyball associate head coach Bryan Weber has taken the head coach position at Fordham.
"Bryan Weber's impact on our program goes beyond wins, but the results speak for themselves," said head coach Joanne Persico. "A 2019 BIG EAST Tournament Championship, 2019 NCAA Tournament appearance, 2021 BIG EAST Division Regular Season title, 2023 BIG EAST Championship runner-up title and the 2024 NIVC Fab Four appearance, to name just a few program highlights."
Weber joined the Red Storm as an assistant coach in 2014 before being promoted to associate head coach during the 2021 season. He has been a part of five 20-win seasons and won the 2019 BIG EAST Championship. During the spring of 2020, Weber was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under Thirty List, an honor recognizing the top up-and-coming coaches in the country.
Since his arrival in Queens, Weber has coached two AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selections, nine AVCA First Team All-Region selections, one AVCA East Coast Region Freshman of the Year (2018) and five AVCA All-East Coast Region Honorable Mention selections.
At the conference level, he's guided 20 All-BIG EAST First Team selections, two BIG EAST Freshmen of the Year (2016, 2018), one BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year (2025), one BIG EAST Libero of the Year (2018), one BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player (2019) and led the Red Storm to six BIG EAST Tournament appearances.
On the national level, Weber was a part of the Johnnies' 2019 NCAA Tournament team and all four of the program's NIVC appearances. During the 2024 season, he helped orchestrate the deepest postseason run in program history when the Red Storm reached the Fab Four of the NIVC.
Before arriving at St. John's, Weber served as an assistant coach at SUNY New Paltz, where he helped the team lead NCAA Division III in three statistical categories: assists per set (12.3), kills per set (13.3) and winning percentage (.875). He assisted in developing the AVCA Newcomer of the Year in 2014 and coached two AVCA First Team All-Americans.
"Coach Bryan is a strong mentor and servant leader. I am extremely grateful for his dedication, vision, professionalism, loyalty and the commitment he brought to me and the program for the past 12 years," said Persico. "I am so proud of Bryan, and I wish him the best of luck and success as he embarks on this exciting next chapter of his career!"
