Sa’Mya Wyatt Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore forward averaged 16.5 points in 2-0 week for the Red Storm
NEW YORK – St. John's women's basketball forward Sa'Mya Wyatt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Wyatt averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds on 65% (13-20) shooting from the field during a 2-0 week for the Red Storm.
The Powder Springs, Ga. recorded 14 points, the second most on the team, four rebounds and shot 5-for-7 (71.4%) from the line in the 71-52 win over Xavier.
The forward netted her fourth 20-point performance of the season to pace the Johnnies while tallying six rebounds, an assist and a steal, while going 9-for-12 (75%) from the field and 2-for-3 (66.7%) from three in the 67-61 win over conference rivals Seton Hall.
Wyatt, the 2024-25 ASUN Freshman of the Year at Austin Peay, captured her second weekly honor in the BIG EAST. The sophomore is one of three players to be recognized by the league this season, joining Brooke Moore and Daniela Abies.
Wyatt and the Red Storm will travel to Chicago for a Tuesday night contest against DePaul. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
